Google says it takes crowd sourcing into consideration, but all it does it take the distance and divide by 65 which is the predicted average speed. It's TOTALLY inaccurate. Who manages to drive, say 500 miles, in around 7 and 1/2 hours at an avg. speed of 65 without hitting traffic, construction, or taking a break for food/rest/bathroom? A more reasonable calculation would be to assume an average of 50 mph. Unless you drive at 80 mph, you'll never get to your destination in the time Google predicts.

I would caution against using an escalator. I fell running up one (Bad idea, I know now!), cut my leg on the metal stairs, and needed wound care and a tetanus shot. This happened in the USA but this is a hazard regardless. Luckily, it was not a severe injury. Take the elevator/lift or take the stairs. And no running! I will never use an escalator again.
